Neighbors

We live in a neighborhood that is full of cookie cutter houses (there's that sweet thing again)and we are all in a row and all have a postage stamp lot and it makes for very close living. We also have a homeowners association to make sure that we keep our little neighborhood looking all perfect.

Well, we have a neighbor on one side of us who quit talking to us. We aren't sure why although George did poop on their side yard once, but I really don't think that was it. I really think it has something to do with the holes they were digging in their yard for the fence that they were going to put up until they were notified by the homeowners association that some kind neighbor had informed them that they were putting up a fence and "were they aware that they needed approval?".

Now, it could have been any neighbor who called with concern. Why would they automatically think it was us? I can look out my back door and look down the row of houses and see what every neighbor is doing the entire block long, so why would they think it was us? When Don got home from work that day he was kind enough to inform said neighbor that they needed approval for their fence and was basically told they had already received the nasty messages and they knew they needed approval and they were going to fax it in. Ever since this conversation, said neighbors have quit talking to us. They even went as far to get approval from 4 neighbors to put up said fence and we weren't one of them. Now, how can you possibly get approval from 4neighbors and one of them isn't right next door.

It gets even stranger...now the children don't say hello either. When they were outside they always said hello and now they don't even look at us when they are out and they don't utter a word. How weird is that.

Since they don't speak to us, I guess we'll never know what their issue is. We'll just continue to wonder what it is that we did. Oh, and for the record the holes are dug, but there isn't a fence.
